About

On September 16th 2008 Xavier Media founder Andreas decided to invest a small amount of money in two mutual funds with some connection to WWF (Världsnaturfonden in Swedish :) ).

The two funds selected where SEB Baltic Sea fund/WWF and Skandia WWF fund. Both of the funds donate a percentage of the total fund value each year to WWF.

SEB Baltic Sea fund/WWF

This fund is administrated by the Swedish based bank SEB and each year 1% of the fund value is donated to WWF's Baltic Sea Project. At the same time SEB donated the same amount to WWF too :D .

This fund is mainly investing in companies around the Baltic Sea and their biggest investments at the moment (16th of September 2008) are Nokia 8,40%, Hennes & Mauritz 6,20% and Vestas Wind Systems 3,80%. Vestas Wind Systems is a Danish based company producing wind power plants making it possible to produce green electricity from wind which will cause the CO2 to go down (or at least not to increase that much).

Skandia WWF fund

This fund invests mainly in Swedish companies (companies listed at the Stockholm stock exchange) and only companies following the WWF guidelines will be allowed in this fund. Each year 2% of the fund value if donated to WWF.

The funds biggest investments are at the moment (18th September 2008) Hennes & Mauritz 9,90%, Nodea Bank 7,20% and Skandia Small Companies 7,10%.

Fund development

Andreas is planning to write in this blog every now and then about the development in these two funds. You will also be able to follow the development of the funds in a special graph where you can see the share price in each fund. Hopefully we've reached the bottom or at least are very close to the bottom in the world economy right now, so from this point we're all hope it will only go up :D

To show this graph on your own web site you can use this HTML code. The graph will be updated automatically when we update our graphs on this web site.

This graph shows the development of the funds in %:

Why are you doing this?

Andreas has always liked the work done by WWF and he has been an investor in the Skandia WWF fund for several years now. Since we can't survive without our planet it's extremely important that we do everything we can to reduce our hazarious activities. For example since we're all are depending on electricity to surf the Internet, we should all make sure we never use electricity from coal, oil or any other CO2 fuel. Andreas for example is only using electricity from wind power plants in his home and in September he also invested in a wind power plant himself to make sure as much electricity as possible used by both Xavier Media and himself are from wind.
